About our Children's Ministry:

Our ministry to children goes beyond the boundaries of this section.
In this day and age of specialization,
One might think that something for children might only be found on this page
But our church is truly an inter-generational ministry
Where children can be found in just about every major area of ministry.
From worship to special events,
Children are spiritually connected with the other generations.

Invited to men’s and women’s retreats
Welcomed to the deaconess ministry
Invited to serve in worship
Welcomed to all special events

…we will tell the next generation
the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD,
his power, and the wonders he has done

Psalm 78:4

Our church offers a healthy balance
Within the vision of an inter-generational ministry.
On the one hand, the children are invited into a multi-generational environment
And on the other, they are provided specialized ministry just for them
Specialization has its place within the caring context of an inter-connected ministry

We look forward to seeing your children

Sunday Worship and Sunday School
The Perfect Balance of Inter-generational Ministry and Specialization

Worship is essentially family based, and so we gather together to sing, pray, and even hear a “children sermon”

childrensermon

The Children’s Sermon
Is a clear reflection of an inter-generational ministry
As this sermon itself as a formal place in worship
And by the fact that adult members take turns in providing the spiritual teaching

Afterwards, the children are escorted to their classrooms for further teaching that meets their life stage needs.  Those in junior high and beyond are encouraged to stay in worship.

After worship, children two years old through five years old may be picked up by parents in their classroom.  Children kindergarten through sixth grade may be picked up in the gym.

Children’s Choir

A great example of specialized ministry within the context of an inter-generational one
This choir performs as part of adult special events such as Cantatas
And at seasonal events such as Christmas

Celebration Children’s Choir is for kids in Kindergarten through 4th grade. In the spirit of an inter-generational ministry, children are given the chance to sing in worship.  Opportunities are usually seasonal such as Palm Sunday, Mother’s Day, and Christmas.  There are also special event opportunities such as “Operation Christmas Child” and “Hanging of the Greens” (during the Christmas season).  Practices are normally held on Sundays and sometimes on Wednesday nights.
