Ministry OUTSIDE the Church

Community Outreach is the counter-part to the Mercy Ministry of our church.  Whereas Mercy Ministry extends a hand of mercy to those inside our church, Community Outreach reaches out to those outside our church.

Development Team meeting: every Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Outreach Office.
Those who have schedule conflicts are still invited to serve according to their situation.

Join us as we…

1. Connect established local services to those in need:  shelters, food services

2. Support established local services with focused drives:  food, toys, supplies, special projects (“back pack 07”, “fill the pantry”)

3. Create our own outreach opportunities: enlisting volunteers with special skills (to be on "standby"), creating special events where those skills can be expressed. Creating opportunities for our church youth to serve in the community. Contact Diane and share your inspiration.

4. Meet specific needs of individuals:  resources to promote self-sufficiency....not dependency

5. Raise funds to strengthen our ability to reach out:  Samaritan Sunday

Every first Sunday of the month, the church invites the congregation to give ONE dollar each to strengthen our ability to reach out to the community. The purpose of this collection is to create a sense of congregational participation as well as to impress upon the fact that so much can be done with so little.  The Covenant Christian School also participates in this endeavor.
